Stake Relief Society Meeting

Tonight, Wednesday, May 1st at 7:00 is our Stake Relief Society Semi Annual Meeting.  We will be blessed to hear from our Stake President, President Hill.  It's at the Stake Center.  (our meeting house)

We made about 30 fleece blankets at our winter workshop for the Logan Regional hospital.  They were loved by the nurses and distributed quickly.... we have more fleece to sew to make blankets for the hospital.  This is such an exciting project!  Saturday at 10:00 we are meeting in the Primary Room to sew the rest.  Bring your sewing machine (if you can), a snack to share (if you want) and come for as long as you can.  If you don't sew, no worries, you can turn and press and fold :) Tell your neighbor, sisters you visit teach, etc.  See you Saturday!

winter workshop

This Saturday is the Relief Society Winter Workshop...

It starts around 9:30, lunch at 12:10 and ends around 3:30... come for as much as you can. If you can't make it to the classes, still come for lunch. No need to sign up, just come and enjoy!

Here's a list of the classes/workshops:
10:00 Power of Happiness (taught by Faith Erickson) or Romancing your Marriage (taught by Julianne Duffin) or Make Blankets for babies at Logan Regional Hospital (This will be going on all day, so stop by sometime to help sew blankets)
10:45 Missionary work made easy (taught by Jan Jardine) or Debt Relief/Budgeting (taught by Kerri Williams) or blankets
11:30 Intro to Indexing (taught by Michelle Hill) or Craft ($2.50) (taught by Janene Allred) or blankets
12:10 LUNCH!!
1:00 Boys hair cuts (bring a boy and you can cut his hair-- hands on!!) (by Becky Twedt) or making suckers & fudge (taught by Camille Husted), or blankets
1:45 Choosing and loving children's literature (taught by Jenny Williams and Marianne Young) or blankets
2:30 Interest in Pinterest (taught by Heidi Checketts) or blankets.

Bring something you love

 

Bring with you something you really enjoy.  For example a sample of a favortie recipe and a few recipe cards, you favorite book, your favorite fragrance of candle.... you get the idea.  Wrapped, unwrapped, or tied with a bow, we don't care.  Then we have a fun way to exchange it with someone else.

 

We also want to do a "Cookie Exchange." So bring 30 or so of a favorite cookie/treat and 30 of the same recipe.  This part is comepletely optional and really so is the first part, but do come and bring YOU!

Christmas Arts and Crafts Show

Steve and LInda Simmons combined with their neice and nephew are having a Christmas Arts and Crafts Show at their home: 210 East 2100 South, Providence. 

Some of the items we will have for sale are: fine art, crafts, pottery, hair accessories, tutu's and fairy wings.

Dates and times are as follows:
Thursday 6th of December       2pm-8pm
Friday 7th of December            2pm-8pm
Saturday 8th of December        10am- 6pm

Refreshments are served.

apple cider anyone?

Bill and Karlette Johnson will have fresh apple cider available at their home (90 W. 400 N.) Thursday through Saturday this week (until it’s gone). The price is $5.25 per gallon. The cider is made from 7 varieties of apples and is great fresh or it can also be frozen for long-term storage. If you have any questions, you can call Karlette at (435) 213-6785.

Stake Temple Week

Our Stake Temple Week is Oct. 9-13  Our Stake Presidency encourages the members of our stake (us) to participate in all of the ordinances offered in the temple as our personal and family circumstances allow. 

They also invite us to go to the temple grounds. Take our children (if we have them) to the temple grounds and allow them to touch the temple and feel of the Sprit that is there.  Enjoy the crisp beautiful fall at the temple.

Our Stake Presidency also invites us to join them for the endowment sessions at 6:00- and 8:00 pm on Tuesday, Oct. 9th. 

Our ward temple night will also be that week on Wednesday, Oct. 10 at the 6:30 sesson. 

Whatever session you plan to attend or whatever service you want to provide, find some time this next to go to the temple. I know it will be worth your effort.
